When you’re hosting an event, chances are that you want to make sure that everything looks amazing. Since most people document their lives for all to see, your guests will appreciate attending an event that is “snap worthy” and “gramable.”
How does having a photogenic event tie in with production though? Well, production can be seen here as the process of getting a high-end event. Even though most people won’t see the painstaking struggles you may go through in order to pull the event off, your hard work will manifest in how well-put together your event looks.
You might think that you’ll have to spend hundreds (maybe even thousands) of dollars in decorations to capture the theme of your event. That isn’t the case though.
Sure, decorations will add a little extra touch, but you definitely don’t have to break the bank for that part.
If your event is taking place indoors, your DJ could actually solve any problems with bare walls. Sounds crazy? It shouldn’t.
If you splurge a little bit on your DJ, your package might include lights. Some DJs even offer fog effects. With a mix of crazy lights and fog, everything else will fade out. No one will care about the overly decorated candy bar when everyone is turning up on the dancefloor with a light show.
Even though you have the option of hiring a cool DJ with extra effects, you shouldn’t neglect everything else about your event. Just like most things in life, there has to be a balance.
Balance out the over the top DJ with less extravagant décor.
Your tables should always have some decoration. This could come as simply as having cool tablecloths or fancy place settings. It also wouldn’t hurt to have a table topper (floral arrangement, candles, etc.).
This would also be a great time to start thinking about how many tables you want to have. If your event venue is relatively small, you probably should stay away from having a lot of tables or else your event will look cluttered.
Having different sized centerpieces will help open up the venue too. Too many large decorations will also make everything look too close together.
Planning things out might sound like an obvious thing to do, but a lot of people forget to imagine what their event would look like as they’re picking out decorations and adding extra touches. If you need some help, give us a call. We’d love to help your produce the best event ever.
